Age Limit: All players must be age 18 and up due to occasionally violent and suggestive content.
Maximum Characters: You get a maximum of 6 on-island characters -- this maximum does not include alumni/expatriates. They can be any combination of teachers, students and townies provided the characters are accepted during enrollment sessions, and fit within the current fandom caps.
(If we find out you've got more than the maximum and it appears to be an oversight, we'll work with you to fix things, but please don't try to trick us. We'll catch you and then it'll be awkward, and we'll ask all your characters to leave.)
Fandom Caps:
In order to keep things diverse within the game and to make sure that the playable characters in a fandom don't all get grabbed up by one or two players, we've instituted some fandom-related caps:
Gamewide: There is a soft gamewide cap of 10 on-island characters per fandom. By "soft," we mean that once the fandom reaches its cap, we'll still accept applications for characters from it, but they'll need to be exceptional and/or fill some vital role in the game, for the character to be admitted. Currently, there are no fandoms that have reached their cap; if that happens, we'll let people know during the application process.
Personal: Each player may have a maximum of 2 on-island characters from the same fandom. This doesn't apply to ongoing alumni or expatriate characters.
Playing multiple characters: Each of your characters should get the same basic amount of attention. There are no 'primary', 'secondary' and 'tertiary' characters. Give them all the attention they deserve. If we notice you're neglecting one character for another, you'll be asked to drop a character.
Enrollment: You may add one of each type of character (student/teacher/townie) per enrollment until you reach the maximum. You can only enroll when we're accepting new characters. These periods will be advertised. As townie applications are always open, you can only add one townie per month. To enroll, you will have to send in an application (the form will be advertised) and then, if you're accepted, you'll get all of the info you need to get started.
The Dark Side: Fandom High is very cautious about accepting applications from evil characters (bad, wrong, mean characters? Yes. Flat-out too hard to control evil? No. We had Darth Vader with restrictions. Use that as a measuring stick.) Many dark characters are workable, but we don't want to unleash too much crazy evil on the island at once. Too much evil causes headaches. We will be getting evil guest stars for plots, though, so if you want to play one express your interest in auditioning for the role when it comes up.
